Starring Ellen Burstyn, Max Casella and John Glover, this World Premiere production tells the story of playwright Jon Stone, who’s finally written his masterpiece: a play about his upbringing. But as opening night looms, his choice to cast his actual mother to play his mother on stage is proving troublesome, and when his estranged father gets wind of the production airing the family’s dirty laundry, his long-awaited reappearance threatens to stop the show. Obie-winner Pam MacKinnon directs this hilarious and heartfelt comedy by Labyrinth playwright David Bar Katz that turns the memory plays of Tennessee Williams and Eugene O’Neill inside-out and imagines a world where the boundaries between life and art are as blurry as The Atmosphere of Memory itself.

“Ms. Burstyn and in particular Mr. Glover are naturally arresting stage presences.”

-The New York Times

“Hats off to playwright David Bar Katz (Philip Roth in Khartoum) and his abettors at the Labyrinth Theater Company for assembling an astonishing cast.”
